One can say that Turners theory was crucial in determining the fate of the Minoans. The were located in a volcanically active area which ultimately resulted in their downfall.

== The End ==

The final downfall of the Minoans started with an earthquake which destroyed the palace centers (Graphic image of palace destroyed shown above). To top this off, on the nearby island of Thera a volcano erupted, creating and preceded with more volcanic activity. These earthquakes leveled many cities in Crete but equally as devastating were the colossal tidal waves produced, one which supposedly took down Knossos
