Return to History 8 Human Origins Concepts Bipedalism is the form of locomotion that is characterized by walking on two limbs. Bipedalism is not necessarily the fastest and most effective form of running or walking but it comes with many advantages and disadvantages. The advantages of bipedalism are that you can you can stand taller and see further. Raising children also comes with the advantage of bipedalism because while you would be running a baby could be held. The disadvantages are that possible predators can see you and then attack.
