Peru is warm because it's pretty close to the equator and receives more direct sunlight. It is at a high elevation and a low pressure.


Geology

Tectonic Plate Boundary Near Lima

Lima is on the South American Plate, about 100 miles from the boundary with the Nazca plate, which makes it subject to several earthquakes, and it is near a rift.

Type of Rock in Lima

Metamorphic rock, because Lima is so near a plate boundary and there is lots of heat and pressure.
