He was the first to propose the idea that he needed to be buried in something that could fulfill his God duties. Zoser hired his architect Imhotep. Imhotep was a very talented person, specializing in architecture, sculpturing, writing, medicine, astronomy, and was known to be a God to the people of Egypt because of this ability to do many things. Imhotep designed the Step Pyramid in Saqqara, the first stone building ever, and the foundation for buildings in Egypt. The Step Pyramid stood 200 ft. high, and was the first pyramid to be built.
