A Bodhisattva is a highly motivated person who searches for enlightenment for not only himself but for others as well. They are solely motivated by love and compassion. The ultimate goal of a Bodhisattva is to become the highest level of being: a Buddha. In order to help another creature, whether it be human or an animal or any being, a Bodhisattva would undergo any pain or suffering. Jesus Christ is an example of a true Bodhisattva. When a Bodhisattva begins his journey of enlightenment, he strives to obtain the six perfections. 1 - generosity, 2 - ethics, 3 - patience, 4 - effort, 5 - concentration, and 6 - wisdom. Bodhisattvas are fearless. They only possess love and compassion for the world around them.
