Radio is a transmission of wireless signals from one place to another in atmosphere or space. The first radio transmission was performed by a Canadian Reginald Aubrey Fessenden at Brant Rock, Massachusetts in December 1906. Even though the radio was discovered then, it did not gain popularity until WWI, but even then, people only heard about them, partially because the radio receivers were made only by people interested in the radio. One of those people, Marconi, created a factory in 1912 to assemble radio transmitters and receivers. In August 1920, the first radio program was broadcast.
