− | Iconography is the science and writing of different symbols and icons in a civilization. Using this technique, the Egyptians formed different pictures to show religion and politics. At this time, religion and politics were very tightly woven. As a result of this connection, large murals and paintings of the pharaohs and gods covered the walls. For example, the pharaoh was a living representation of Ma’ at, the philosophy of justice, law, and ethics, and Ma’ at was painted as a women with wings by iconography.
