Line 1: Line 1:
The middens show many aspects of Natufian life. They show that because the Natufian's kept supplies, tools, and food in them, they came back to the middens each year, proving they were not nomadic or hunter gatherers- just foragers. The middens also tell what the Natuians ate. We know that the culture ate flatbreads made of grains and that sometimes fruits were added. Each culture at one point made a flatbread as an early meal. The middens also tell us how many people may have lived together in one tribe and in one house. There were around 25-50 people in each Natufian group. We have found tools in the middens, proving their use of composite tools and what typs of tools they used and why they were used. We know how they buried the dead because grave sites were found in the middens. The middens that were made and lived in by the Natufians tells us much about the average Natufian life.
