It tells us that the Natufians had leisure time because their hunter-gatherer lifestyle did not required constant work. In this time they carved ornate tools and made art. Another effect of this social structure had on their lifestyle was a complete lack of privacy and personal possesions. People traveled in small family groups, but met with extended kin and other groups to trade tools, food, people (so as not to inbreed within family groups), ideas, and mythologies. In this way, Natufian culture was kept alive. This was also the beginnings of commerce.
