The land where the Hebrews lived was in between Egypt and Mesopotamia. The land where the Hebrew lived, carried all commercial goods between Egypt and Mesopotamia. Where they lived was also where armies would travel through. The location of their land made it difficult to make a unified country. The Hebrews were under constant threat. The Hebrews were only able to control this area for a small amount of time. So the Hebrews moved to mountains running from north to south between the coastal areas and the Jordan River. There were spots of land along the edge of the Sea of Galilee that had very rich soil and was very good for fishing. There were also spots of land that were rocky and very difficult to live off of.
