How did the Egyptians conceive the universe?  What was it like in their minds?  The universe (in their minds) was a very unique place, if the people of the land and the pharaoh worshiped and praised their gods then everything was regular in their world.  The Egyptians believed in two lives: your real life and your after-life.  But the unique thing was that they believed in necrophobia, this means that they wanted to live after hey die, hence afterlife, bu they also did not want the dead to come back from the dead.  All of the dead lived throughout the universe.  The pharaoh was the Egyptian way to easily connect to the gods.  The Egyptians believed that the pharaoh was a son of gods, not one but many.  The pharaoh was always perceived as an extremely handsome, athletic man, even if he wasn't.  He was there to do many things including to keep peace throughout the land, make laws, carry out the laws, defend from enemies, and build temples to worship the gods.
