Israel was located near the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan river. It was inhabited by Hebrews. This area is where Judaism and later Christianity were created.

Judah was located to the south. It's capital was Jerusalem. Much of it was from Assyrian culture. Religion was an important part of both Israel and Judah.
