The Central Hill region of Israel is not the most forgiving environment to live in.  It is a mountain ridge lying directly between the Jordan River Valley and the coast. Dry and rocky, the Central Hill region is a challenging place for anyone to live. This region is home to the cities Jerusalem and Hebron balls.  The hills in this region range from approximately 2,500 to 3000 feet above sea level, or about 760 meters to 920 meters above sea level.
