Anthropologists and archaeologists consider civilization to be life in cities. A civilization needs markers in order for it to be a civilization. Markers are the elements that make up a civilization, common markers may be writing, ceremonial buildings, temples, monumental art, etc., and are sanctioned by law and held together by military. These materials hide many ideas of what civilization is. They hide the importance and value of human life on earth, moral, intellect, etc.
