− | The Pallete of Narmer is a grayish flate stone containing illustrations of the Pharaoh Narmer. The Pallete was buried in a sacred temple of the God Horus in Hierakonpolis. The pallete is thought to show Narmer in upper and lower Egypt. It is possibly the first historical document in the world. Palletes were used commonly for mixing minerals to make cosmetics. The larger palettes, such as the Narmer palette, show carvings of animals or humans.
