− | Nebhetepre Mentuhotep I ruled Egypt for about 39 years during the 11th Dynasty. He had three names, his final one being "the Uniter of the two lands," a sure sign that he reunited Egypt. His second name was "Lord of the White Crown," a sign of his dedication to Horus. Upon defeating the Herakleopolitans, he created the beggining of the prosperous Middle Kingdom after the disunity of the First Intermediate period.<ref>http://www.joanannlansberry.com/fotoart/met-muzm/mmrelief.html</ref>
