In addition to blades and micro-flints hominids made a variety of tools, like burnishers. Burnishers are scrapers for cleaning hides of fleshy material and for smoothing the hides down and rubbing in colorings. Burnishers allowed hominids to create different kinds of clothing with smooth comfortable surfaces also offering a variety of colors. Burnishers were basically any rock with a protruding edge that could be used for scraping, and they were also often hard to be differentiates from burins which were used for engraving or scoring. Burnishes became a popular tool among hominids and were able to prove themselves helpful in there time on earth because of there help with creating clothing and other objects.
