'''Communication'''

It is thought that the communication of early modern humans, homo sapiens, evolved from manual gestures.  One theory is that language and words came into existence roughly 150,000 years ago when the homo sapiens began to leave Africa; this idea might explain why they were able to dominate and prevail over all of the other species at the time.  Before real language, early species of homo communicated using gestures, grunts, and facial expressions to convey their ideas.

'''Art'''

Many cultures used art to leave their mark on the world.  A popular form was cave painting.  The Magdalenians, a west European group living in the territories between the Alps and Cantabrian mountains of Spain, were able to produce some of the finest work of the period.  Their paintings left signs and showed self-awareness to say that the paintings were not there because of nature, but them.  Full human creativity and imagination had emerged and was noticeable among the humans of the age.
