Line 1: Line 1:
The Natufian culture was a Mesolithic culture, previously located in the Eastern Mediterranean around about 9000 BC and is believed to be the descendant of the Kebaran culture. Being hunters and gatherers, the Natufian diet consisted of fish, gazelle, wild cereals, and other produce. The culture's tools were made prominently of flint stone and formed into small arrowheads or sickles, a tool scientists believe was first created by the Natufians. In addition to arrowheads and sickles, the culture also used harpoons and hooks, carved from bone, to catch fish. Natufian art was carved from stone or bone. ''Ain Sakhri Lovers'', a piece created by the culture, is now displayed in the British Museum. Members of the culture were buried in cemeteries with personal momentos.
