'Return to History 8 Egypt ID's

Nefetari, a great Egyptian queen and wife of Ramses II, is regarded as one of the greatest queens of that time [1]. Although her origins are unknown, we know that she was the daughter of a nobleman and that she and Ramses had about 11 children together. Nefetari was Ramses II's favorite wife and when she died, he built her a great tomb and ordered two temples to be carved out of the mountains in Thebes. One was for him and the other one for Nefetari [2].
