− | 12500-10200 years ago ''(Incorrect dates)'', emerged a new culture, that is now called the Natufian Culture. These peoples are generally referred to as hunter-gatherers, but foragers may be a better word to describe them. Unlike most hunter-gatherers of their time, who were peripatetic, the Natufians spent "at least part of the year... in communities," (http://archaeology.about.com/od/nterms/qt/natufian.htm) which were known as base camps, and Natufians followed a much more sedentary lifestyle than hunter-gatherers. The Natufians foraged a fairly small area, and generally, following seasonal patterns, came back to the same place, where they had grain stored.
