Khufu, the son of Senufru, was the second Pharaoh of the Forth dynasty of Egypt. He ruled Circum 25 centuries before Christ. He demanded the construction of his tomb, The Great Pyramid of Giza. This magnificent monumental structure consists of about 2.4 million stones, with individual ones averaging about 2 and half tons each. Each one was transported up to 500 miles to arrive at the worksite. The construction of this magnificent necropolis is thought to have taken up or around twenty years, with a labor force 300,000 strong. All of this great work force was overseen by Khufu’s nephew Hemiunu, who may have been the architect of this spectacular structure. The whereabouts of Khufu’s mummified remains are unknown do to the fact that he died about 2566 BCE and tomb robbers got to him before we did.

Senefru, a great pharaoh who was born at about 2635 BCE, was the first pharaoh of Ancient Egypt’s 4th dynasty. He waged war against enemies such as the Nubians and Libyans, and founded trade relations with Lebanon and other countries of the Mediterranean. Other than this, not much is known about his life. His father was thought to be the pharaoh Humi, but his mother was a concubine. Since, in Ancient Egypt, it was thought that royalty was passed from mother to son, he had to marry his half-sister, Hetepheres, to gain royal status. The eight step pyramid at Maidum was most likely started by Huni and finished by his son. It is believed that Senefru contructed the bent pyramid, which was called so because after a certain point its angles were bent, and the red pyramid made out of red clay and silt found near and in the Nile. It is also believed that Senefru was entombed in the red pyramid, the first true pyramid; however the male body that was found in the pyramid was stolen before it could be ascertained. Senefru had a great architect that was named Imohtep and was regarded as a god of wisdom after he died. Senefru, one of the Pharaohs of the 4th dynasty of Egypt, died around 2589 BCE and with him started a legacy that would last forever.
