History 8 Video Notes Becoming Human

The brain size and brow ridges are two main anatomical features that distinguish homo Erectus from modern humans. The brain size is more commonly known as the major difference between these two species. The homo Erectus brain is shorter, creating a small forehead, but it is longer making their heads stick out in the back. The frontal lobe of homo Sapiens are one of their most important features. It allows us to plan and think ahead of whats currently happening. This is where the forehead of the modern human is, and also why the forehead is so long. Also, the brow ridge is another very important difference in the anatomies of these two species. It shows the overall layout of the brain in a homo Erectus.
