The key arts of a civilization are the arrival of the city, kingship, and temple, and the creation of organized communities.
+
City: For a city to be made, a surplus in food is necessary. Without this mass production of food, the city would not be able to sustain its large population.
+
Kingship: Since not everyone needs to work on getting food, people branch out and do different jobs. This diversity will lead to an change in the type of money one receives. With this separation in pay, social classes will emerge. The families with the most money will establish themselves as leaders in the society. Or the religious leaders take power, because they say god appointed them. This is also known as legitimization of authority.
+
Temple: With a large population, an communal religion forms. The priests gain power in the civilization.
+
Organized Communities: With larger projects, irrigation systems, the civilization needs a way for order. That is where government comes into play.
+
Without these factors, civilizations would never rise, and humans would remain in small unorganized towns.
