Like values, ideals help define a culture, ideals dictate what the members in a society hope to achieve.Ideals are the best case scenario for example most people in America strive to be rich, the American ideal is based on wealth and happiness. In terms of jobs the ideal is a high paying job such as a doctor. The ideals drive a society to become more like their ideals and fuel consumerism. Also in America we iealize equality and justice, we strive to be a completely excepting country however some Americans dispute these ideals. We strive for a system in which no corruption occurs and everyone is treated fairly with respect, however that usually does not work out.
