A dictionary definition of ideal is a person or thing conceived as embodying such a conception or conforming to such a standard, and taken as a model for imitation. But, Ideals are what people based their goals on. They are models for what people hope to achieve in life.
Ideals are principles that one actively pursues as a goal, usually in the context of ethics. They serve as models for what people hope to achieve in life.
