Day the Universe Changed: Changing Knowledge, Changing Reality
Structures of reality -- the structures of each culture which evaluate, explain, organize, inform beliefs, judgments, morals, ethics and values -- change quite often as the world around us changes. Structures change when people gain information or find themselves in circumstances that do not fit with the life they know. Human knowledge and beliefs can change when there is an advance in technology, a change in physical environment, shift in attitudes, or other challenges to what we accept as "normal." Exposure to new ideas, different civilizations, and uncontrollable circumstances all can play a part in changing the reality structures of a community.
