The Sphinx, located on the Giza plateau, measures 73.5 meters long and 20 meters high. It takes the body of a lion and the head of the Pharaoh Khufu. Thought to be a monument built by Djedfre to honor his father, its face was originally painted red. Its nose was blown off by the army of Napoleon Bonaparte in their conquering of Egypt.
