Hanoi's climate is affected by it's close proximity to water, resulting in a higher average humidity. Every summer in Hanoi is monsoon season, when winds blow rainclouds over much of Southern Asia resulting in high levels of precipitation, especially in August. Otherwise Hanoi is in the area of latitude known as the Doldrums, where wind is generally slight.
