The fourth reason why history is an interpretation according to Edwin Fenton is Material Dialectic which is Marx's theory. His theory stated that social relations determine history.  So whenever a new method of production occurred conflict occurred between the older ruling class and a newer class using the newer and superior means of production (origins manual page 3). Ruling classes controlled the "means of production" which gave them wealth and power to rule (origins manual page 3).Marx believed that all historical change was caused by a series of class struggles between the bourgeoisie 'haves' and the proletariat 'have nots' (www.skwirk.com/p-c_s-14_u.../karl-marx...theories/.../background)

Directions for History Wiki

This wiki will be your primary resource for review of each unit. The more complete each entry, the better the study guide for all.

It is the responsibility of each student to provide the most complete information on the vocabulary and question assigned. Incomplete and minimal responses will result in a lower grade for the original editor. It is the responsibility of the group to verify all information and correct any errors. Addition of information by another student, as long as it is accurate and integral to the subject, will be noted and considered for extra credit.

To Insert a picture into your wiki:

The picture has to live online already. Find the image you want (using best practices for copyright, of course), and right-click on it. Choose Copy Image URL. Edit the wiki page and paste the image URL directly in the text where you want it to go. Be sure to put a space in between the URL and the start of your text.
