Introduction

Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) is a type of screen which is flat, unlike it precursor, the CRT. The LCD television’s main appeal over its predecessor, the CRT, is because it is flat and can be much larger without being much thicker and it can be hung on a wall. Although LCD's profit first surpassed CRT's in 2003 (by over 7.7 Billion Dollars), the first LCD television, the Cassio TV-10, was sold in 1983 and, despite the age of LCD televisions, they continue to sell.
