Impact of Water

The civilizations Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro received a major source of water from the Indus River. The cities were located in the Indus River Valley. Even though Harappa and Sumer, Egypt were rivals, they were alike because water flowed freely into the agricultural lands. Because of all this water, Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro had a nice economic base because of the highly productive agricultural sector. There was now a city wide system of water. The water was used for indoor plumbing (for the rich), agricultural needs, and public baths including the largest public bath of the ancient time, the Great Bath.

The Indus River

The Indus River goes through Tibet, China, and India. The river "empties" itself in the Arabian Sea and flows through almost all of Pakistan. The Indus River gets almost all of its water from the melting snows from the Himalayas.
