Any way of making, sending, or saving messages via a digital communication system. An abbreviation of “electronic mail”. The communication system is called the Internet: a world-wide web of interconnected computer networks that trade information. Email is used to come in contact with people over the internet. The internet is a worldwide network linking computers to other computers. Some email platforms include Gmail, Hotmail, AOL, Earthlink, and Yahoo.
