History 8 Environment Bone From a Dry Sea

20. Physical place

Physical place, otherwise known as physical geography, is a prominent aspect of civilization as it is the flora, fauna, climate, and landforms (topography) of any given location. Descriptions of physical place can be evident in writing as well, such as in Bone from a Dry Sea. "It was late afternoon and still hot, but not so much cooler than it had been out in the badlands..." (152) This describes the temperature aspect of the place's country, which could be indicative of the country's latitude if it is really, scorchingly hot usually. Therefore, physical place descriptions can lead to much information about the place.
