The Hittites
The Hittites were the most significant peoples of Mesopotamia history. They were the most signifigant because they were the biggest and because they were primarily in the business of commerce. They traded with everyone in the meditterranean. They are believed to be the ones who spread the ideas coming out of mesopotamia. The Hittites edited the law left to them by the Old Babylonians. This is the most extensive piece of work from them. In their system of law you were not killed for premeditated murder and all the things classified as less heinous. The king owned all the land. They maintained their army by allowing a person to farm a plot of land if they serve in the army. The hittites were very tolerent of other religions that existed in mesopotamia.
