Example 1 "You're a prophet, you too hear voices and know that there a world beyond this world"(8). The man that Elijah is in hiding with explains the extent of a prophet's mindset. He exclaims that prophets believe in a biblical world that is separate from the world in which they live.

Example 2 "a nabi, a prophet, a 'man of the spirit! One who exalts himself with the word of God"(9). In this quote, Elijah's friend acknowledges their duties and special characteristics as prophets. They generally spread the word of the Lord as they are amongst the few are spoken to by Him or His angels.

A prophet tells the people how all will remain well if they follow the word of the Lord. For example, when Saul one of the Kings of Israel disobeys God, he is punished with the death of his sons and himself. The website "Role of Prophet" claims "When the prophet knows the heart and mind of the Lord, he speaks the word of the Lord to his people." The prophet does not act upon the Lord until reached out to by Him. That is what defines a prophet. Communicating with the Lord and His angels then spreading it to the community.
