Back to History 8 Gilgamesh questions The gods are capricious and act on whims. Sometimes they listen, sometimes they destroy. Some gods favor one group of people and others favor a different group. RB The gods listen to the human's words, and pity them when they are under the tyranny of Gilgamesh. The gods behave and relate to the humans by punishing the ones who disrespect or abuse other humans, and act as judges to the people they rule over. The gods are in a position superior to the humans, and act as idols to the peple and accept their prayers and hear their wishes.
