The gods were very dangerous to humans and live by their own laws. They frequently behave as emotionally and irrationally as children. Humanity calls upon the gods to help them. The gods are constantly intervening in the lives of humanity. They are sometimes very helpful to the humans. However, the gods send a flood to wipe out all of humanity. This tells us that the relationship between the gods and humanity was not very close. The gods wanted for all of humanity to be wiped out completely. The relationship between the gods and humanity is often contentious.
