15. What new way of life came about? What sort of tools did the Natufian create?

Because of the younger dryas, the Natufians newly adopted way of life was forcefully abandoned. Because of the drop in temperature, the Natufians had to leave their permanent settlements and become nomadic in order to find food. Many died. The Natufianns were extremely innovative when it came to making tools. Because they were beginning to farm, they required reaping knifes to cut through the thick grain. This knife was made of bone, with sharp stone flints wedged into the end to create a sharp edge. They also used grinding stones which were used to process seeds, dried meats, and fish. These grinders were made of a slightly hollowed-out stone in a bowl shape and a small stone that could be held in the hand as you rub the two stones together. Various flint and bone tools were also helpful to the Natufian way of life.
