Return to History 8 Human Origins Vocabulary

The Earth has been covered in large ice-sheets during times in the pasts, in times known as ice ages, or glacial periods. During times where the Earth does not have these ice sheets, it experiences interglacial periods, such as the one the Earth is in right now. The Earth alternates approximately every hundred thousand years between ice ages and these interglacial periods.
