16. What were the effects of irrigation?

Upside

Irrigation gave the Ghassoulians' life, and it fueled their economy for years because it allowed them to bring water into their fields to water things which they were growing. irrigation also allows for places with scarce water to have a constant supply at their disposal.

Downside

Irrigation takes water from a place which may have an abundance at the time, but can run out.
