Return to History 8 Culture Origins Vocabulary Clergy is people (such as priests) who are the leaders of a religion and who perform religious services. They are also spiritual guiders and perform a variety of tasks such as marriages, baptisms, and funerals. If they do not represent the creeds and beliefs of the group they will be expelled from the organization.
