19. deciduous forests

Deciduous forests are a common type of forest found in many places around the world. Deciduous forests are found in the Eastern half of North America, and the middle of Europe, as well as Southwest Russia, Japan, Eastern China, South America, New Zealand, and Southeastern Australia. Deciduous Forests have four seasons, spring, summer, fall, and winter, and the annual temperature is 50 degrees Fahrenheit. In Deciduous forests, there are five different zones, The first zone is the tree stratum zone that contain oak, beech, maple, chestnut hickory, elm, basswood, linden, walnut, and sweet gum trees. The second zone is the small tree and sapling zone that has small and young trees. The third zone is the shrub zone and the shrubs in this zone are are rhododendrons, azaleas, mountain laurel, and huckleberries. The fourth zone is the herb zone that contains short plants. The fifth zone is the ground zone that contains lichen, and club and true mosses.
