Physical geography looks at the water, air, animals, and land of the planet earth, everything that is part of the atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and lithosphere. Physical geography focuses more on the landscapes at the surface of the earth. All places have characteristics distinguishing them from other places on earth.
