He ascended to the throne at the age of 12 and descended from the throne at the age of 50. He is known as the king who beautified Egypt and erected many still standing monuments. Unlike other Pharaohs, he was able to focus on construction in the homeland because he used precious resources such as gold from Nubia to ensure a peaceful time in the empire. he was the first ancient negotiator who knew how to keep potential enemies always wanting more from him. He and his enemies corresponded on Stone notecards. later, scarabs were mass produced and inscribed as first newspapers. The quality of life during his reign was high due to prosperous trading and the amazing ability of the Nile to provide for is people. Construction instead of conquering was the main focus due to the fact that there was no imminent danger to the Egyptians. He built the temple Malkata, which is located on the shore of the Thebes. His tomb was found by Jollis and Devilliers, two french engineers during the reign of napoleon Bonaparte. The tomb, which was found in the Valley of the Kings, was in poor condition due to exposure to the elements and to salt.
