Back to History 8 Agriculture Concepts

Throughout the transition to the farming way of life, more advance tools, and permanent settlements storage played a vital role and helped the evolution to modern humans. Elaborate settlements were established with containers and baskets to help move and store the varying building materials. Nomads utilized leather and/ or straw baskets and underground storage pits to store excess food and materials to keep and use some other time. Once farming became a reliable source of food permanent settlements were established with the help of clay containers to store the extra food they gained. Storage was crucial for the expansion of communities. Without the granaries to store harvested seeds they would not be able to go long distances and travel to new and unexplored places.
