Back to History 8 Agriculture Concepts

There were many different causes of the agrarian transformation. These included the melting of glaciers that opened up more land suitable for farming, and also causing a lack of animals for hunting, causing many groups to begin to lean towards agricultural means of food. In addition, as dense forests became more common, it became harder and harder to find herds of animals that could feed the society. This led to the domestication of animals, another important part of the agrarian transformation. However, it is thought that there were smaller causes, such as putting on large feasts to show power or impress other societies.
