The Mound of Creation, also known as Eridu, was the mound at which the earth rose from the sea according to Mesopotamian mythology. Eridu is also know to be one of the first permanent settlements in all of Mesopotamia. Erisu consisted of a ziggurat tower, a temple, and many other complex structures.
