According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, a savanna is "a large flat area of land with grass and very few trees especially in Africa and South America." Savannas are a type of biome. They are covered with grass and have sparse trees and shrubs. Savannas can be found throughout Africa, South America, India, and parts of Australia. Their temperatures are usually warm, ranging from 68 degrees fahrenheit to 86 degrees fahrenheit. During the year, savannas have dry and wet seasons. The dry season occurs during the winter and the wet season occurs during the summer.
