Daniel; Boornstin was born in Atlanta, Georgia where he started his career as a writer and librarian. He is most famous for his American Trilogy and his book, The Discoverers. He went to collage at Harvard University, where he won a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford. From there, he found his way to the University of Chicago, where he taught American History from 1944 to 1969. Soon after, he became the director of the National Museum of History and Technology from 1969-1973.

Boornstin came to the conclusion that ideas and practices can hardly ever be predicted. Boornstin tells us that “The creators and discoverers have been open to challenge and took previously unrelated ideas and put them together in a way that had never been seen before”. Some examples of this is Back to the Future 2, by Robert Zemecks. In Back to the Future 2, a boy named Marty McFly, travels into the future to the year 2015. In this he sees that we have hover boards and that we are traveling by floating cars. They also feature time travel, floating homes, and much more. Yet here I am today, in 2015, driving a regular car on the street, with I Fly being the best hovering simulator that we have.
